Transportation
IMI staff – easily recognizable in our coral shirts and holding custom signage – will be on hand to meet your guests upon arrival as they enter the terminal and head towards baggage claim at Cyril E. King Airport on St. Thomas. We’ll then escort them to the baggage claim to identify their luggage (where skycaps will then assist), then we will walk them to our waiting 14-passenger air-conditioned vans for direct transfer to their hotel. During the drive, our savvy and courteous drivers will be pleased to share local knowledge and insider tips on getting the most enjoyment out of their visit to our islands.
For Departure, airlines require that passengers arrive at the airport two hours prior to departure. IMI can provide detailed departure notices that will be delivered to guest rooms. The notices explain bag pulls and transfer times. Guests will be required to clear customs upon departing St. Thomas and will need to have proof of citizenship, as St. Thomas is considered an entrance point into the Untied States. Currently, there are no departure taxes.
Regarding airport transfer rates, the per person rate is based on a 4-person minimum per van. We place up to 8 passenger in a van with luggage and 10 passenger per van should luggage go in a separate vehicle. Rates include baggage handling.
IMI “Meet & Greet” Service
IMI provides airport “Meet-and-Greet” service based on the specific arrival patterns of your guests.
Supplemental Baggage Service
IMI will automatically arrange for additional vehicles to accommodate luggage for groups of more than 25 persons arriving or departing on the same flight. This ensures a more relaxed and efficient transfer process.
Private Luxury Transportation
A limited number of limousines, sedans and luxury SUVs are available – just the thing to insure privacy, comfort and personal space for VIP’s.
St. John Transfers
St. John guests arriving at the St. Thomas airport are met similarly to those staying on St. Thomas. Our transfers to St. John are private and are scheduled according to the arrival and departure times of the guests, thus avoiding any wait time. Groups are transferred to the National Park ferry dock at St. Thomas’ East End, approximately 25 minutes, and there they board a private water taxi for a short, 15 minute boat ride to the hotel dock on St.John. For departure, the process is reversed, the guests are transferred back to the east end of St. Thomas and then to the airport based on their flight departure times.
